John 1:46

Nathanael said to Philip, "Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Philip told him, "Come and see!"

This is my first weblog, that is, a site dedicated only to writing and posting. I chose the title and the passage not only because it has the biblical origin of my name, but because it somehow also encapsulates how I have come to view faith and how I love to talk about it with others.

Faith, to me, is not belief but trust. It does not take faith to see and recognize God's works for what they are, whether they are part of his natural universe or his intercession into human history. It does require faith, however, to live in as complete trust as we are able to his guidance and example in Jesus Christ: to "continue to work out (our) salvation with fear and trembling." [Philippians 2:12]. More later!
